About This Course

This course equips learners with the foundational skills and applied understanding of Generative AI (GenAI), aligned to the nationally endorsed Skills Framework for Infocomm Technology (ICT), under the AI Practitioner pathway at the Fundamental level.

Through this course, learners will explore key concepts such as data quality, model typologies, prompt engineering, model limitations, performance metrics, and the ethical and societal impact of AI systems.

Participants will gain the ability to evaluate and guide the quality of GenAI outputs without requiring coding knowledge, making the course accessible and immediately applicable across industries.

Designed specifically for individuals in roles such as operations, marketing, customer service, policy, or digital transformation, the course helps address growing workforce needs in understanding and responsibly applying AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and other emerging models.

Learners will be better prepared to engage in AI-supported tasks, evaluate AI-generated content, contribute to AI adoption initiatives in their organisations, and pursue job upgrading opportunities in digital and tech-enabled roles.

This is a beginner-level course for adult learners with no prior technical background.

It is suitable for PMETs, mid-career switchers, and professionals seeking to future-proof their career by acquiring GenAI-related competencies under Singapore’s national AI talent roadmap.

What You’ll Learn

This course introduces participants to the principles and applications of Generative AI, equipping them with skills to understand, evaluate and apply GenAI outputs confidently in the workplace, without any coding required.

Through a structured curriculum aligned to the AI Practitioner (Fundamental Stage) framework, learners will acquire the following knowledge and competencies:

a. Fundamentals of Generative AI: Understand how generative models work (e.g., transformers), and how they differ from discriminative AI models

b. Prompt Engineering: Learn how to design and refine prompts to improve the quality and relevance of AI-generated responses

c. Data Quality and Model Training: Explore how data preparation, bias, and training pipelines impact AI system outputs

d. Performance Evaluation: Apply practical methods to assess AI outputs using metrics like accuracy, consistency, and bias detection

e. Use Case Application: Gain exposure to real-world applications of GenAI including summarisation, transformation, and content augmentation

f. Responsible AI Use: Identify ethical implications, governance principles, and PDPA-aligned practices to ensure responsible deployment of GenAI tools

Learners will engage in classroom-based activities, hands-on exercises, and case studies using popular GenAI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, DALL·E) to build workplace-relevant skills in AI content evaluation, output optimisation, and responsible usage.

This is a non-technical, beginner-level course suitable for professionals looking to adopt Generative AI in domains such as marketing, operations, training, HR, administration, and digital transformation.
